EnduroGP of Sweden: Hamish Macdonald on the podium both days!

The tour in Northern Europe continued and the Swedish GP took place this past weekend. All our riders fought hard to attempt to move up or maintain their position in the general classification. Here is a look back at an intense racing weekend.

In E1, Antoine Magain was counting on his good momentum from the Estonian GP. He started this Swedish GP at a good pace and was in a fight for the podium on the first day of the race but he fell twice in quick succession and lost contact with the leaders, he finished 4th. On the second day of racing, Antoine had a great day, he was on the podium in E1 and well placed in the scratch, unfortunately things went wrong on the last special of the day! He fractured his right wrist; he finished the special anyway and took the bike back to the park to take the points for sixth place with a fractured wrist.

Hamish Macdonald continues to gain strength in his first year at the senior level, the Junior world champion had a very good weekend by finishing both two days on the podium. He finished third in the category twice, he also occupies this position in the provisional standings. Hamish will continue his road trip; he is already on his way to Germany to defend his national title which he acquired last season.

For his part, Daniel McCanney had a challenging Swedish Grand Prix, he never found a good rhythm in the specials which in truth did not look like a typical Scandinavian GP…. Daniel finished both days in fourth place, he still occupies third place in the provisional classification. The summer break will allow him to recharge his batteries.
