A transitional stage, the calm before the storm

The stage was modified because of the rains of the last few days, the revised layout of stage 3 presented the riders with 255 km of special ans 381 km of liaison in the Al Qaisumah desert. A day where prudence and strategy were essential before the “super” special of 465 km which awaits the riders and the machines tomorrow.

Lorenzo Santolino once again played it smart. Having started at a steady pace, he purposefully decided to delay at mid-special and ended up finishing in 20th place. His strategy was successful since he remains 6th overall just 10 minutes from the leader.

Just behind him, Rui Goncalves opted for the same strategy. The 2 teammates will therefore be side by side at the start tomorrow. He finished 23rd in the stage.

Harith Noah chose to ride at a consistent pace today after his fall on day one. He finished 29th today and climbed up in the general classification where he is in 31st position.

It was a very fast special today without any real difficulty following the changes to the route. It therefore became a day of transition which will allow the riders and the whole team to prepare for the big challenges to come.
