The 2022 DAKAR has started and it was a strategic prologue for the Sherco Factory Rally team

The long-awaited moment has arrived. The Sherco Factory Rally team has settled down in Jeddah for the first days of racing utilizing their strategy of restraint and wisdom developed from years of participation.
 

Lorenzo Santolino played the wise card on a short 19km special. It provided the riders with the first kilometers and is also the starting point for the race today which will be a stage where the riders will have to use all their navigational skills.

Rui Goncalves rode a good first special. He was riding at a very good pace and was surprised on the crest of a dune where he jumped and lost his front wheel in the sand. It was a good appetizer for our Portuguese rider. He will start today just behind his teammate Lorenzo for the real first day of racing.

The pressure finally hit Harith Noah. He was impatient and tense at the start, anxious to do well in the first kilometers, he developed cramps in his forearms but kept his cool and ended his first day without further incident.
 

After some 800 kilometers of liaison in the cold, our riders had a nice warm-up on this 2022 Dakar. The entire team is at its best and ready to do battle over the coming days.
