Podium Pace for Sherco at British Enduro Championship Opener

The 2026 British Enduro Championship fired into life at the iconic Jack Frost Enduro in Mid Wales, with Sherco riders delivering an impressive and well-rounded performance across Rounds 1 and 2 of the ACU Enduro GB series.

Hosted by Rhayader Motor Club at the demanding Cwmythig Hill MX circuit, and Saintswell, home of the newly launched Sherco Enduro Trails Wales – Off-Road Enduro Experience. Two expertly crafted special tests combined tight, technical sections with fast, flowing terrain, creating a true test for both rider and machine.

Etchells Charges to E3 Victory and Overall Podiums

Making his debut with the new Motofit Racing Team Jed Etchells was in exceptional form onboard his new Sherco 300SE across both days, securing 3rd overall in Round 1 before stepping up to 2nd overall in Round 2. His consistency and pace earns him the E3 Championship lead with an impressive double victory in E3 class.

This strong start positions Etchells firmly as a Enduro GB championship contender, showcasing both speed and control in demanding conditions.

Chater Shows Strong Progression for an E1 Podium

Sherco UK rider Charlie Chater delivered a determined and progressive weekend in the highly competitive Elite class. Improving throughout, he moved from 10th overall on day one to 8th overall on day two.

In the E1 class, his progress was even more notable, climbing from 5th on Day 1 to an impressive 2nd place on Day 2. As conditions worsened, Chater stepped up his pace and delivered when it mattered most.

Charlie commented:
“It was a solid start to the season and I’m happy with the progress across the weekend. Day one was tough and I made a few too many mistakes, but I felt much better on day two and was able to push on and improve both my overall and class results. The 250SE Sherco was working great in some really challenging conditions, so a big thanks to the team. It’s something to build on heading into the next rounds — but first I’m looking forward to the opening round of EnduroGP in Italy.”

Victory in the Women’s Elite Class

The Elite Women’s category produced exciting racing, with reigning British Champion Nieve Holmes (ET James Sherco) and Rosie Rowett sharing victories across the two rounds.

Early mistakes on Saturday left Holmes with too much ground to recover, finishing 2nd overall. However, she bounced back in style on Sunday with a great performance to take the win, putting her at the top of the standings as she begins her title defence.

It’s a great group of riders and it’s shaping up to be an exciting season ahead.”
