Introduction

After its first year in the enduro market, Sherco presents several new features for the 2006 season. In the past six years Sherco has proven to the world that they are a manufacturer of leading edge off-road motorcycles. The models presented here are no exception.
The effort has not been in vain, in these six short years Sherco has created a complete line of Enduro and Trials Motorcycles with more than 16 available models and several more under development including the new 2.5i. During the next 9 months Sherco will revise all of their existing models with completely new Trials and Enduro models in the 50cc and 125cc class. These bikes will be ready to be shown at the next Paris Motorcycle Exposition thus showing the tremendous amount of activity that has been generated by the Spanish-French firm.

Sherco 4.5i 2006:
Refined and even more Reliable

Sherco has refined this model in order to provide the quality, features and reliability that will propel it to the top of its class

For this season, Sherco has concentrated on improving many details on the 4.51. We have listened to our dealers and our customers around the world and have made the changes they requested. Sherco has refined this model in order to provide the quality, features and reliability that will propel it to the top of its class.
The changes in the motor begin with better transmission ratios for 2nd and 3rd gears, new valves for improved power, a revised fuel injection curve for an even more smooth and powerful engine and a new lighter flywheel for improved engine response. The automatic de-compressor has been totally redesigned in order to improve reliability and function.
In the suspension area the rear Paioli shock absorber has been shortened which allows the seat height to be lowered 2.5 cm with out having any adverse effect on the handling of the bike, which was deemed to be outstanding in the 2005 model.

Sherco 5.1i 2006:
A Magnificent Manageable Machine

This motor is very manageable and continues the Sherco philosophy which requires that the motor be very adequate for the amateur enduro rider.

All the characteristics and improvements of the 2006 4.5i are also found in the "big" Sherco. The 5.1i has a cylinder displacement of 510 cc; the only changes to the engine from the 4.51 are in the bore and the stroke. This required a new cylinder, piston, connecting rod and crankshaft.
This motor is very manageable and continues the Sherco philosophy which requires that the motor be very adequate for the amateur enduro rider. The plan is to provide the rider with a motorcycle that has such usable power that it will not break the arms of the rider in a two minute excursion. A motor that is so tractable that one could almost ride it in a trial.
As is the case with the 4.5i, the riding position is very natural on the 5.1i. For such a large displacement motorcycle it has incredible maneuverability.
With the addition of the Sherco 5.1i, to the extensive line up of Sherco Enduro Models there is good reason to believe that there is a bike that will meet the needs of everyone who is a follower of the Sherco brand.

Sherco plans to actively participate in the Enduro Championship of the World with a top rider in 2006. Sherco is in conversation with several riders at this time looking for a rider who will be the center of this powerful team.
In 2004, Stefano Passeri competed in several World class events on the proto-type 4.5i, in 2005, Sherco was in the background and had Laurent Bouffioux (France), Joan Pedrero (Spain), Stefano Casartelli (Italy) and Michael Vuckcevic (Belgium) ride the bike in several events. In 2006, the plan is to return to the World Enduro Championship with the intention of being competitive at the highest level.
