In conjunction with the celebration of the recent Motorcycle show of Milan, Sherco expanded its commercial network by reaching an agreement with the new Italian importer for the full Enduro line of motorcycles. Fratelli Perego Ind Sarl will be the representative of the Sherco brand in a country that is marked with a very strong motorcycling tradition. This will reinforce the presence of the Sherco brand in a influential transalpine country.  The objective is to promote all of the Sherco Enduro models but also to prepare for the imminent launch of the new 2.5i which should be released next year and will spearhead the Sherco Enduro line. The agreement was reached between Arnau Vilardell, the Sherco commercial director and Ivano Perego during the Milan show where the full Sherco product line, Trials and Enduro, were on display including the very successful 50 c. c. Enduro bike.

Nuevo importador de enduro en Italia
Coincidiendo con la celebración del pasado Salón de la Moto de Milán, Sherco amplió su red comercial con el acuerdo con el nuevo importador en Italia para la gama de motos de enduro. Se trata de Fratelli Perego Ind Sarl, que será el representante de la marca en el mundo del todo terreno, reforzando así la presencia de la marca en uno de los segmentos del motociclismo con más tradición en el país transalpino. El objetivo es el de potenciar los modelos de enduro de Sherco y preparar el inminente lanzamiento de la nueva y revolucionaria Sherco 2.5i, que debe ser en los próximos años la punta de lanza de la gama off road de Sherco. Arnau Vilardell, director comercial de Sherco, e Ivano Perego, formalizaron el acuerdo en el marco del stand de la marca en el Salón de Milán, donde se expuso la extensa gama de modelos de trial, las exitosas 50 c.c. y como no la serie de modelos de enduro.

Albert Cabestany has been the great surprise at the start of the 2008 season which began with the first round of the Indoor Championship. After the successes obtained by Graham, Jarvis, Cristophe Bruand and Dani Oliveras during 2007 with the Sherco 3.2 4T is was natural that Cabestany would move to the 3.2 for the start of the 2008 season. For all of his sports career he has competed on 2 T equipped motorcycles, his adaptation to the new motorcycle has been phenomenal, from the first moment he has been competitive on it as shown by his spectacular start in this new season. According to the Spanish pilot, “I have always liked to take advantage of the power of the motor, and the 4T has excellent power at low speeds, and its power in every aspect is similar, if not better than the 2T, for this reason the change to the different motor type has been no problem”. In his debut of the 3.2 4T Cabestany placed second in Round one of the World Indoor Championship which was held in Marseilles and again rose to the podium in Barcelona, despite the fact that he had to attack the sections first in the final.

Albert Cabestany ha sido la gran sorpresa del inicio de la temporada 2008 que ha empezado con el mundial indoor. Después de los éxitos conseguidos por Graham Jarvis, Cristophe Bruand y Dani Oliveras durante 2007 con la Sherco 3.2 4T, tanto la marca como el propio Cabestany han apostado por el cambio a la 4 tiempos. Después de toda su carrera deportiva pilotando motos de 2 tiempos, el tiempo de adaptación a la nueva moto ha sido inapreciable, y desde el primer momento Cabestany se ha mostrado muy competitivo, como lo demuestra su espectacular inicio de temporada. Según el piloto español “a mi siempre me ha gustado aprovechar el par motor, y la 4T tiene una fuerza en bajos impresionante y su potencia a cualquier régimen es similar o superior a la 2T, por lo que el cambio de un tipo de motor a otro no ha supuesto ningún problema”. Cabestany consiguió en su debut en el mundial indoor en Marsella la segunda plaza y en Barcelona volvió a subir al podio después de verse obligado a abrir las zonas en la manga final.

The benefits of the Sherco 3.2 4T have surpassed the expectations of the specialized press. Recently, The Vanguard, one of the newspapers of greater renown and circulation in Spain dedicated an extensive space in its Sunday special to the Sherco 3.2. In the report they describe how Sherco started and has developed into a company that is a reference in the world of Trials. In the article, which is titled “Total Precision” they point out the important work that has been done by the Catalonian-French brand in its constant evolution of this type of motorcycle that symbolizes perfection, precision and efficiency. In addition they were complementary of the work that has been done by the brand, betting on the valve equipped motor and its ability to reduce emission contaminants.

Las prestaciones de la Sherco 3.2 4T ha sobrepasado más allá de la prensa especializada. Recientemente, La Vanguardia, uno de los periódicos de mayor tirada y difusión en España dedicó una amplio espacio en su especial dominical a la Sherco 3.2. En el reportaje, se recuerda los inicios de la marca y su progresión hasta convertirse en una referencia en el mundo del trial. El artículo, titulado “Precisión Total” es un importante reconocimiento a la labor realizada por la marca catalana-francesa en su constante evolución de este tipo de motos que simbolizan la perfección, la eficiencia y la precisión. Además queda patente el esfuerzo que la marca está realizando, con la apuesta por el motor de válvulas, en la reducción de emisiones contaminantes.

Xevi Pons, who competes in World Championship rallies, has introduced the practice of training on a trials motorcycle as part of his preparation for the 2008 season in which he will again compete at the highest level in the rally championship. Xevi Pons has chosen the Sherco to complement his regular training. According to Pons, “my physical coach –Jaume Palau- has recommended it to me, because the practice of trials provides training in touch, in sensations, in dexterity, balance, concentration etc.” Xevi Pons is an expert in the motorcycling world; before he started competing in cars he obtained successes in the enduro world, winning two team world titles (1998-2000) and various national level titles. He started racing cars in 2001 and in 2003 won the Spanish rally championship and in recent years has been a dominate driver in the World Rally Championship. This will be his second year to be driving for Subaru, this year he will compete in several different races while at the same time coordinate the activities of the team for the season.
From now on Pons will include the practice of trials in his training program which he will combine with his physical preparation in the gym along with jogging, btt, etc. For his trials training he has a Sherco of the latest generation that was delivered to him by Josep R. Paxau who is the technical director for the company, and head of the competition department which is located in Torello (Barcelona).

El piloto del mundial de rallyes Xevi Pons, ha incluido la práctica del trial en su plan de entrenamiento de cara a su preparación para la temporada 2008 en la que competirá de nuevo al más alto nivel en el campeonato del mundo de rallyes. Xevi Pons ha escogido la Sherco para su entrenamiento en prácticas de trial como complemento a su entrenamiento habitual. Según Pons “mi preparador físico –Jaume Palau- me lo ha recomendado, ya que la práctica del trial aporta un plus en el tacto, las sensaciones, la destreza, el equilibrio, la concentración, etc. todo ello fundamental para rendir al máximo bajo la presión que supone conducir en situaciones extremas en los rallyes del mundial”. Xevi Pons es un consolidado experto en el mundo del motociclismo, ya que antes de competir en coches consiguió importantes éxitos en el mundo del enduro, consiguiendo dos títulos mundiales por equipos (1998-2000) y varios entorchados a nivel nacional. Desde el 2001 se pasó al automovilismo, consiguiendo en 2003 proclamarse campeón de España de Rallyes de tierra y en los últimos años se ha convertido en uno de los grandes pilotos del mundial de rallyes. Este será su segundo año como piloto de Subaru en el que combinará su participación en distintas pruebas y colaborará activamente en los test de pruebas que el equipo realizará a lo largo de la temporada. A partir de ahora Pons incluirá la práctica del trial en su programa de entrenamiento que combinará con su preparación física en el gimnasio, footing, btt, etc. Para ello Pons dispondrá de una Sherco de última generación que le fue entregada por Josep R. Paxau, director técnico de la marca, en las instalaciones del departamento de competición ubicadas en Torelló (Barcelona).

The promoter of the World Enduro Championship, (WEC), Alain Blanchard announced to all of the participating World Enduro Teams that the first race of the championship will be held in San Oar. Sherco will be represented in the 2008 series by the young rider Jeremy Joly who will be racing the new Sherco 2.5i; his mechanic will be Lionel Carenzi he will also have a small support structure. He will compete in the eight rounds of the championship. After spending a winter in intensive training, the objective of Joly, in his second year of competition is to finish in the top five of his class.

El promotor del mundial de enduro, WEC Alain Blanchard convocó a todos los equipos participantes al mundial de enduro a la presentación del campeonato que se llevó a cabo en San Remo. Sherco estará representado en el mundial 2008 por el joven Jeremy Joly a los mandos de la Sherco 2.5i y acompañado en la parte mecánica por Lionel Carenzi y con una pequeña estructura que les permitirá afrontar las ocho carreras del mundial con garantías. El objetivo de Joly en su segunda temporada completa es la de finalizar entre los 5 primeros de su categoría después de un invierno intenso de preparación.

Sherco has the limited edition motorcycles ready for the first edition of the Sherco Cup; these bikes will serve as the mechanical base for the riders competing in this competition. These bikes differ from the standard version in that they have received a spectacular set of graphics and decorations that combine the blue and white model colors with unique identifications that promote this series. They have also received some small technical modifications that have been incorporated in to the small 125’s in order to make them fully competitive and allow the riders to confront the season with every possibility for success. This form of promotion will permit riders to receive grants that will allow them to compete in the Spanish Trials Championship in the cadet and junior classes.

Serie limitada Sherco Academy Cup
Sherco ya tiene a punto la serie limitada de motos que servirán de base mecánica en la primera edición de la Sherco Academy Cup. Esta serie difiere del modelo de serie en una espectacular y atractiva decoración en la que se combinan los colores azul y blanco con grafismos específicos e identificativos de esta fórmula de promoción. A nivel técnico también se incorporan pequeñas modificaciones que hacen que la pequeña 125 sea realmente competitiva y permita a los jóvenes pilotos afrontar la temporada con garantías de éxito. Esta fórmula de promoción permitirá becar a jóvenes pilotos que compitan en el Campeonato de España de trial en las categorías cadete y junior.

The veteran Italian rider, Diego Bosis has opted for Sherco to confront the 2008 season. Bosis has chosen the Sherco 3.2 4T as the weapon of choice for the young riders in his formation course. Bosis was one of the strong protagonists in the world championship back in the 90’s and was one of the most charismatic Italian riders.
